Our Material Testing prove whether your products are performing as desired. With our fully equipped testing labs with the latest printers, we are uniquely able to provide valuable information on whether your material will meet your customers' expectations. Each of our four testing packages provide you with a variety of testing options so together we can build the testing regimen best suited to your needs.

The Bronze package includes:

  • Standard Print Test
  • One additional test based on application

Standard Print Test

The Standard Print Test is a test file developed by ColorBase to detect printing issues. However, we can also perform the Standard Print Test on your own test file.

Additional Test Choices

Folding / Creasing test

During transportation, a lot can happen that could affect the print. We test the quality of the material by testing what a material has to go through when it is folded while being transported.

Scratchability test

Every print should resist a fair amount of scratching. Therefore, we will test the print with an average force of scratching that a material should survive.

Dry Rub test

We are going to test if you are able to touch the material after printing without affecting the print. We simulate a dry rub test that could occur in your day to day life.

Wet Rub (water)

We are going to test if you are able to touch the material after printing without affecting the print. We simulate a wet rub test that could occur in your day to day life.

Ink adhesion test

This test is done according to the industry standard tools to execute the required testing. The result of the test will show if the material is compatible with the specified ink type and if the adhesion required for the application is acceptable.

Crosshatch test

This test can be performed in addition to the ink adhesion tape test. By making small cuts in the ink layer, we are able to check the adhesion and also see if chipping occurs. Mainly critical for UV inks.

Shrinkage test

We will test the material by using test files and measuring the physical print after it has been cured/sublimated/printed. We make sure the material will fit within the tolerances.

Rewetting test

The image seems properly cured but after some time there can be an oily finish on the surface. We are testing this behaviour over a couple of days to make sure the inks are dry.

Gamut Report

If you choose the Platinum package you will receive a Gamut Report based on the profile we made. The report will show you how many colors the profile can print on your material. The volume of the gamut and the possible amount of Pantone colors you are able to print is included as well. We designed the Gamut Report to provide you with a good indication of the profile quality. You will also be able to compare another material or ink type, to see how your material is performing.
